117 Wednesday, presumptive Speaker of the House Congressman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)58% vowed things will be different under his leadership.
Ryan said, “This begins a new day in the House of Representatives. Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)37% served with humility and distinction and we owe him a debt of gratitude. But tomorrow we are turning the page. We are not going to have a House that looked like it looks the last few years. We are going to move forward. We are going to unify. Our party has lost its vision and we are going to replace it with a vision.
We believe that the country’s on the wrong track. We think the country’s headed in the wrong direction and we have an obligation here in the people’s House to do the people’s business to give this country a better way forward, to give this country an alternative. We are going to respect the people by representing the people. And I want to thank my colleagues for bestowing on to me this great honor. Thank you.”

And let’s not forget that 4 years ago, when his kids were really young, and mom could really sure use some help, Ryan was OK with running for VP.

I have to smirk with mirth over how deluded even we Conservatives have allowed ourselves to become.
Are we REALLY going to delude ourselves that what we are witnessing IS NOT the fruits of what an oligarchy and dictatorship looks like?
Such men in power will not be moved by our complaints, our calls, our marches and our bitching.
History teaches that such persons are only moved by one thing.
It’s too bad more of us do not realize what has happened to us, and what will be required if we would hold onto what we have left, without it being forcibly removed from us via events, consequences and deliberate actions of this Beast on the Potomac.

What do you consider to be “moving forward”? Amnesty? A “road map” to a balanced budget in 40 years? Gun control? Ramming through endless trade deals that destroy more jobs? Double the millions of foreigners imported each year?

Speaker Ryan will “fundamentally transform the party” just like Obama did the country. Ryan will have the easier job since most of the GOPe will gladly turn into Democrats.
