Tonights debate will feature a number of real presidential contenders, and a greater number of people who should drop out already. There are six candidates in the Republican primary who deserve to be there for various reasons.
Donald Trump, because hes a giant political kaiju, tearing through Tokyo with abandon. While ultimately vulnerable, until hes brought down, hes tremendously powerful.
Jeb Bush, because love him or hate him, hes still got fat stacks and a big network.
Marco Rubio, because hes the greatest natural politician in the field, and if you think calling him the Republican Obama is an effective insult, you should go work in retail, not politics.
Ben Carson, because hes the superego of the GOP to Trumps id, and while his campaign isnt much to look at, hes a safe harbor for a lot of GOP voters right now who are sick of D.C. but cant go the full Trump. (And you never go full Trump.)
Ted Cruz, because hes got resources, and speaks the language of the intense conservative demo Trump hits, with slightly less cray.
Carly Fiorina, because shes thrives in the spotlight, shes still the most compelling voice against Hillarys record, and her froideur is great TV.
Six would be a big enough field. Those six have to keep earning their place, but there are also nine other people on the debate stage tonight who dont deserve to be there and shouldnt be there.

Rick’s just butt hurt over not being hired by any campaign, and he’s relegated to writing for the Daily Beast. Wasn’t he working for Scott Walker?
The kiddie table candidates are there as a group because they were paid to help trump.
Why not divide the group 50/50?
The media fears trump as a symbol
the country club fears trump as a symbol
Ideals are the nightmare of the establishment.
Ideas are bulletproof.
Heard of sang-froid?
The Libs like Fiorina and Rubio.
Says all that needs to said about them.
At this late date, anyone still polling in single digits should step down.
I must admit that this was the first time in my life Ive ever seen the word froideur.
****************************************************************************
Yesterday I had to go to dictionary dot com for the word “coffle”.
Sounds like: One who makes cold...eg a refrigerator.

Froideur .... frigid .....Fridgidaire ..... Fioriana .....
Looks like one chilly ‘word family’.
Are Santorum et al still debating two hours earlier than the Jebbie candidates?
Note hte way thsi liberal rag wants to set up teh field — Bush, the Establishment guy, against several non-Establishment candidates. IOW, the same way Etch A Sketch got nominated, even though almost two thirds of the party wanted someone else.

50/50 sounds good to me.
RINO Rubio? Fiorina? I can now ignore this article.
Great book isn’t it? Too bad some of his most vocal detractors won’t read it.
“At this late date, anyone still polling in single digits should step down.”
I agree. That more than anything tells me the establishment is going to do whatever they can to make sure Trump is not the nominee.
Including (and especially) Jeb.
LOL...

I’m not talking to any of them who haven’t read the forward, at least. Same for the ones who call him a “reality TV star” as if that’s all he’s every done.
Anyone who reads the forward and cares about this country will be intrigued by what he had to say 15 years ago. This book swayed me from being mildly interested in what he had to say until someone better comes along to being a full-fledged supporter. He’s serious about this run and so am I.
I think he’s been thinking about running for at least 15 years, hoping someone would come along that could do the job. Then finally as my husband would say, threw up his hands in holy horror, and decided if he didn’t do it, nobody would.
They were not insulting to Rubio or Fiorina.
They are the two, along with Bush, I would insult.
