Tuesday on MSNBCs Morning Joe, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was asked about his deteriorating lead in the polls to his opponent, former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson. Trump said that now Carson was a front-runner, it was likely he would face more scrutiny and that a lot of things will come out about Carsons past.

since he didn't have a chance in hell against the democrats, but saw how easily the republicans could be run over.
First, they are already 'out there' if one just looks for them.
Second, why should Trump lift a finger when the MEDIA will do the work for him ?
Carson has a lot of baggage.
Support for illegal immigration
Support for “social justice” like Al Sharpton
He’s...soft (and I’m being charitable)...on 2nd amendment.
His self-justification for using fetal tissue
The halcyon days of his nice, leisurely book signing tour are about to end, I suspect.
“Carson creeps me out”
I think voters will get similar feelings about Carson. Trump doesn’t need to wage combat with Carson.
Carson is neither pro-life or against Amnesty. The good doctor seems good on paper until you start researching the files.
If trump wants to actually win, he needs to get back to the wall, criminal illegals, and an obnoxious protectinism. Attacking secular saints will not rebound to his benefit.
I trust very few people. In the political sense, I trust a few more. Not necessarily they would do wrong thing but lack the sense to do the right thing. I don’t believe Christie to be “corrupt” corrupt but he is a man with vices and appetites. A man with vices and appetites can be easily led astray.
Carson isn't my candidate.
His involvement was providing tumor samples from not-aborted babies to researchers who were also using tissue samples from aborted babies.
Yes, the malpractice is what worries me. I read that he performed surgery on a patient THREE times without ever looking at her MRI; I cannot fathom a competent surgeon not working up a patient up before surgery, especially brain surgery. And so I wonder why he is retired at such a young age. The childhood sins, I can overlook, even serious ones, a young boy’s brain at the age of 14 is not mature, his emotional maturity is not that of an adult.
The birth certificate submitted online by Obama was proven to be a fraud. There was never a hospital birth certificate.
Carson doesn’t have the guts to be a president.
Christie signed (and pushed) the law that parents are not permitted in New Jersey to have change therapy used on their children who are getting involved in homosexuality.
It’s absolutely none of his or the government’s business. That is big government on steroids knocking down the door.
How do those on FR think Trump should handle Carson at this point in time.
Here are my suggestions:
1.Bide his time and don’t criticize Carson on his strong points, such as character, religion, personal convictions and his medical achievements
2.If/when he criticizes Carson, go after his weaknesses, lack of record, is he up to dealing with all that is going on outside of the US and does Carson have what it takes to clean up after Obama and make America great again
3.avoid talking much about Carson, so he doesn’t get in the way of Carson dealing with the increased scrutiny of being a front runner. Trump doesn’t want to be the story
4.Decide if he wants to put in a big effort to try and win Iowa or make sure he finishes a strong 2nd. Religion is a big issue in Iowa and Carson has the edge over Trump on this. Definitely don’t attack his faith, except for maybe the “pacifist” aspect of it.
5.Trump has become a much better campaigner, make sure that is on full display in the debate. Compliment Carson on his campaign success. Make the point over and over that both of their success is due to peoples frustration and disgust with Washington and the political establishment
6.Try to get Carson to restate his immigration policy and get more specific on his solutions. Carson is soft here.
Even though I don’t support Carson, he is a great human being, overcame great odds and the world could sure use more people like him.
Trump does his own polling. He knows where he stands. All the other polls are just incidental reading material. When the tide ebbs he will know it and will adjust his stance.
Using fetus tissue in experimentation - regardless if the fetus was aborted or not is using baby tissue-period. Dr. Frankenstein has work to do.
And now, once again Dr Ben steps into the lion’s den with illegal amnesty on his mind. When listening to him speak, there are a number of items on which we disagree. However, as he is such a kind, decent, nice man WTP continue to bite our tongue in order to be pc. As Dr. Ben is a brain doc perhaps he is using a new technique as an experiment on US First hand analysis and all.
I can’t get by letting all the illegals stay and giving them citizenship.
I also can’t get by the fact that Ben doesn’t exactly know which guns are appropriate for the average American to be allowed to own.
I can’t get by his plan to do away with Medicare and give everybody $2,000 to put in a savings account to go toward their $10,000 to $20,000 insurance premium. Your Mom and mine would be bankrupt in a year.
The guy is totally unqualified and unprepared to be President. And he won’t be.
My post was in reference to the bombshell information Trump kept saying he would release.
If you say so.
‘Ben Carson defends research on fetal tissue
By JOSEPH LAWLER (@JOSEPHLAWLER) 8/15/15 12:28 PM
Former pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson this week defended research he published in 1992 that involved fetal tissue, arguing that his use of brain tissue from aborted fetuses was not equivalent to Planned Parenthoods practice of providing specimens to third-party tissue companies after performing abortions.
Killing babies and harvesting tissue for sale is very different than taking a dead specimen and keeping a record of it, which is exactly the source of the tissue used in our research, Carson said in a statement Friday.
Carson, a famed neurosurgeon before entering politics and becoming a Republican candidate for president, published research in an academic journal in 1992 based on brain tissue taken from two aborted fetuses.
The research was brought to light Tuesday by obstetrician-gynecologist Jen Gunter, who wrote a blog post taking fault with Carson for criticizing Planned Parenthood and saying that medical research doesnt rely on the provision of fetal tissue.
Carson, who is pro-life and has spoken out against Planned Parenthood, argued that there is a distinction between his research and the practices that have raised an uproar over Planned Parenthood in recent weeks.
To not use the tissue that is in a tissue bank, regardless of where it comes from, would be foolish, Carson said on CNN Thursday. Why would anybody not do that?’

Great, Al Sharpton’s bud gains ground.
