The woman who crashed into a crowd at Oklahoma State University's homecoming parade, killing four people and injuring dozens more, was held on $1 million bond Monday as her father acknowledged that "she might have underlying [mental health] problems."

Maybe it was the family secret that caused the mental illness.
This girl has tried to kill herself multiple times. One would think someone would wonder why.
It makes no difference if the drugs were legal or not.
I’m afraid I’ve worked with people who fit this profile. I hope I’m wrong.
It said in the article that she could face FOUR LIFE SENTENCES.
Suicide? I missed that, thanks. I am not real familiar with this case. But it sure seems to make sense and seems to point to the suspect having possible real mental issues.
There seems to be a lot of that nowadays. No joke.
No idea, in fact the 1 million dollar bond to me seems kind of low especially for the deaths of 4 people
In a criminal court it would make a difference.
First, the toxicology results aren't even back yet.
A wise prosecutor takes time to make the correct 'charge'.
Yes, but if she were in Texas, she would be facing Capital Murder and a conviction in life in prison or death.
“Maybe it was the family secret that caused the mental illness.”
Some families have more than one secret.
What you are suggesting could certainly cause an underlying mental condition to develop into a far worse condition later in life than just the inherited condition alone would.
I don’t think she is mentally ill. I think that is her only legal defense so — voila — she is mentally ill.
She looks like a druggie. I have experience at recognizing the look. Okay that is not enough, but that is where I would place my bet. It’s drugs. You know, that lovely substance that liberals and libertarians want to make easier to get.
Chambers says there have been issues in the past.
There was just some things that she said in the past and some, just recently, she had a mental hospital she went to in Wagoner at one time. They had her for a couple of weeks and they released her and theres really nothing else they could do for her. So I took her to another place when she got out of there and basically the same thing. She was feeling fine and, you know, at the point she was 21, so Id done all I could do as a father. I didnt know where else to turn and what to do, he said.
Adacia Chambers boyfriend, Jesse Gaylord, says the last time he ever saw Adacia touch alcohol was Oct. 11 for his birthday, adding that she only had one beer.
Doesn't explain the numerous suicide attempts.
But she wasn’t in Texas, so that’s not an issue here.
If she did it on purpose, then which victim was she targeting?
From what we know now, this woman is a mass murderer.
“One report is she hadnt slept in the previous 3 days.”
Meth
Interesting typo. Per..Maturely.
Yep. That's right.
Her boyfriend, Jesse Gaylord, told him that she suffers from diabetes, but is not being treated or medicated for the condition, Coleman said. She also reportedly suffers from insomnia and had not slept for three days before the crash.
Gaylord also reportedly interrupted two attempts by Chambers to slash her wrists, Coleman said, but doesn’t think the incident was intentional or a suicide attempt.
Chambers’ mother also reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder and has been hospitalized in the past due to her illness, Coleman said.

As one who has suffered rampant insomnia (3 days is nothing. I have remained awake for more than 3 weeks sometimes), it may have made me weird, but never, ever homicidal.
