While I fully support Trump, I don’t see any meaningful action on illegals. The Congress as we know it will not send him any legislation to empower it and will develop a veto override majority to shut him down. He will be able to have the agencies enforce existing laws much better but there will be no big deportation and may even see a small amnesty tied into a little more money for enforcement.
No new laws are needed to deport illegals. That's been the law for years and a new president could reverse Obama's executive orders. But his EOs are tied up in court and some don't think they'll even make it to SCOTUS and be ruled upon until after Obama is out of office.
And the Secure Fence Act of 2006 is still law. Trump might need some funding for a fence, but the president has and has had for years what is necessary to enforce immigration law.
What we want is one thing.
We have to be honest about what we can get so we can get the most of what we want.
