I upgraded my wife’s laptop to Windows 10 and it is 1000% better than the Windows 8 that was there.
I tried Windows 10 on my Windows 7 desktop and since there was no driver support for my SATA RAID card or my HP printer, I switched back. I am still plagued by Microsoft’s ridiculous upgrade notices, even though my older machine isn’t compatible. Microsoft also loads my hard drive up with several gigabytes of Windows 10 stuff.

My daughter tried to upgrade her machine from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and got a message that her system was not compatible with Windows 10. Has not stopped the nagging.

I also went from 8 to 10. No problems yet. I hated 8 from the get go and figured 10 couldn’t be worse. It was fairly easy to opt out of the data reporting to Microsoft B.S. - That is if they are telling the truth that they really do allow you to opt out.

I agree. I don't see ANY reason for anybody to stay on Windows 8. Windows 10 is way better. And, chances are, if you are on Windows 8 you have the hardware (64bit, enough RAM, correct drivers, etc) to install Windows 10 pretty painlessly.

I do understand people not switching from Windows 7 though. The upgrade seems a lot harder when dealing with older hardware that is "less than spec" when it comes to memory and speed.
