Trump was a private citizen in the 1980s. Was he a back-stabber in the Senate like Warren Rudman who always complained to the liberal media whenever Reagan went "too far?" Interesting, but irrelevant, a false choice, and misses the point. As a private citizen, he advocated for almost all of the policies and politicians who have screwed us. Therefore, he does not get a pass as a "private citizen." And is Warren Rudman on the ballot this go round? Didn't think so.

No, he is not. But it's funny how Politico thinks that opposing Reagan is suddenly the gospel now. Rudman was the go-to guy for the leftist media to trash Reagan's agenda, he being the "sensible" Republican, and you didn't hear a peep from the media then.
