It's clams, mussels, scallops, oysters, and snails that make their shells from calcium carbonate.
Also, carbonic acid in the water isn't going to dissolve calcium carbonate because calcium carbonate is a salt of carbonic acid. You would need a stronger acid or one that produced a soluble salt to do that.
Idiot doesn't know his chemistry, doesn't know his biology, but he's supposedly making policy and the idiot-media hangs on his every word.
Chitlins? LOL! Just kidding. But, he is THE science czar so watch out.
I wish someone on the right running for office would bring out the facts you’ve mentioned and ask “This man is our science Czar?”
{”lobsters, crabs, and shrimp don’t make their shells from calcium carbonate, but from chitin — a protein / amino-sugar type of material similar to hair and fingernails.
It’s clams, mussels, scallops, oysters, and snails that make their shells from calcium carbonate.”}
You are a climate change denier.
When you graduate from re-education camp you will no longer spout your dangerous anti-agenda “facts”.
YES, Holdren is a joke even amongst his fellow scientists, none of whom would agree that he was a good choice for the job he’s in. At least I haven’t heard of one who agrees that he shoul even be on the short list of candidates for Chief Science Advisor to the POTUS.
Sounds like the phony acid rain scare of the 80s. There was going to be a huge, disastrous die-off of the world’s trees due to acid rain caused by pollution. It didn’t happen. So the enviro-wackos went on to a new cause: Global Warming.
Exactly right. And the atmospheric CO2 is insignificant compared to the dissolved CO2 already in the Oceans. We have half wits who think they are scientist running the country into the ground.
