The only problem I see with armed Americans is that proportionately they are few in cities and suburbs. Those that are armed have multiple weapons. Pure numbers can give us a sense of security that is just not there unless the armed are prepared to share their weapons with the untrained when the time comes.

For instance, “Despite the high number of guns estimated to be in the U.S., indications are that gun ownership is actually on the decline. The long-running General Social Survey, maintained at the University of Chicago, has been asking about gun ownership since its inception in the 1970s. It has found that the number of people who say they have a gun in their home is at an all time low – hovering around 30 percent, from a high of 50 percent in the 1970s.”

Where are the 30%?

The statistic is true, but I also know that a lot of people say they do not have a gun and do. We are a lot more paranoid as a society then we were a few years ago.

The other side of that is 30%. 30% of 300 million. That is 90 million people with a weapon or more at home. 90 MILLION.

Add up all the worlds armies and police forces and you might get close to that number, or not.

Even a percentage of that would be lethal to anyone starting trouble. The cities would burn, that is true, but the trash would be taken out.

...........................................................
Indications of decline? Ha! I wouldn’t bet my life on it if I were you. A little common sense is to be applied here.
With the constant battle of the so called progressives against the 2nd Amendment, I would state that common sense would indicate that many people would not admit to owning a gun even though they do. In my own family in my childhood, My father owned two guns, my mother one, my sister one , my brother one, and I had two. That makes a total of 7 guns. Today, although my parents and sister are gone, the remaining members of the family (2) have a total of 17 guns which does not count the guns possessed by our children and grandchildren. I think gun ownership is expanding, although covertly. France, of the major European countries, is still heavily armed and many gunowners I know there would not admit to owning firearms. So “official’ numbers are highly suspect. Anyone who hunts or takes part in gun sports will probably agree with me.

We're here. We simply don't feel the need to tip our hand to the likes of the liberals at the University of Chicago.

The only people who need to know about my firearms are my trusted family and friends.
