And screw the 50 million older Americans who paid into it all their lives? Any plan has to take care of current retirees and those about to retire, while providing better options for younger people. Otherwise just default on the debt. I see no reason why foreign bondholders who voluntarily loaned money to the government should get priority over Americans whose money was taken from their paychecks involuntarily.

I have been "paying into" socialist insecurity and mediscare for more than 30 years. Spare me the whining. It's a Ponzi Scheme, always was, and it's insolvent. Even the government knows that.
But what the hell? Let's just keep on keepin' on, until the whole damned thing comes down around our ears.
