The Justice Department is declining to bring charges against Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of a political controversy over the processing of applications for tax-exempt status.
Federal prosecutors announced their decision Friday in a letter to members of Congress.

Dream on. Republi-Wimps don't have the balls to do it.
But the Republi-Wimps would have no problem finding the courage to send a conservative to prison for spitting on the sidewalk.
Trump’s too busy going after George Bush, for some reason, to worry about attacking Team Obama.
dump doc
I sure hope you know what you’re talking about.
All the more reason we need someone not beholden to the party bosses, eh? A guy who wants to return this country to her rightful place in the world.
Someone like...Donald Trump.

One failed president at a time.....
Further correction.
In a letter to members of Congress, the department said that while investigators had found "mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia," there was no evidence of a crime.
"We found no evidence that any IRS official acted based on political, discriminatory, corrupt or other inappropriate motives that would support a criminal prosecution," the letter stated.
Mismanagement, poor judgment, and institutional inertia, are three hallmarks of our current federal government, of which President Obama is the Chief Executive.
I plan on hammering that point home over and over again with the liberals in my alumni forum.
The above is your justification for cutting their budget by 25%, or more, and to jumpstart discussions on simplifying the tax code. The IRS clearly is unable to meet its current demands due to their mismanagement and poor judgment.
I’m thinking she could bring down all of the “elites” no matter what party.
Bring in Trump and maybe that will change. She should be in prison for life!
Why are they even called the “Justice” department any more? Injustice. Tyrant thugs. Political aholes.
She’ll have to wait for her just desserts to the next life, I guess.
Don't be naive. They can hair split the Pardon to death, and prosecute for things that are technically not covered by it.
If they don't prosecute her for abuse of office, they can prosecute her for misusing government resources. Losing paper clips. It does not matter. They will make the crime fit the limits of the pardon because there is so much leeway in the law, they can make criminals out of people when they want to.
Lois Lerner needs to be prosecuted, and like Al Capone, if you can't get someone for murder, extortion and illegal manufacturing and distribution, you can get them for tax evasion.
It does not matter much on what charge Lois Lerner gets sent to prison. It is simply necessary that Lois Lerner go to prison to serve as an example of what happens to a government official abusing their office with the connivance of their superiors.
As "Remo Williams" said of the 11th commandment.
"Thou shalt not get away with it."
Trump or Cruz, probably. Everyone else? Not a chance.
Between Trump or Cruz, I say Trump will be the more inclined to let them get away with this crap.
Or Cruz.
I could see Trump ordering his prosecutors to take heads. I could also see him trying to smooth things over with the Democrats.
Cruz, on the other hand, would be intent on bringing the malicious abusers to justice.
It's getting hard to tell which are which anymore, isn't it?
IMO Ted Cruz is the only pick for Attorney General in a Trump Admin.
This Lerner kommissar ought to be brought before a people’s tribunal, for crimes against the citizens of this nation.
Screw the DoJ. What do they know about justice.
Obama’s abuse of the IRS is exponentially worse than the abuse of the IRS that earned Nixon impeachment articles.
Saved for the famous Friday news release so as few as possible will see this...
Yet no real surprise.
