I’d rather see him as president or vice. You would have to wait, probably until hell freezes over, for a liberal seat to open on the SC. In addition, if he is on the court and there is not a clear conservative majority then again he will accomplish little. We have a couple of justices right now who are constitutionalists but they usually end up as dissenting opinions. We need him in a position of power immediately, where he can make an immediate difference. Could he be appointed later when the conditions are right, even while VP? Of course.
Are you kidding me? Ruth GInsberg is on her last leg - and that other old guy - can’t think of his name is getting up there too. I expect there will be 2 open seats in the near future. We sure as heck don’t need a liberal president nominating for those positions.
Good point. As Pres he could appoint more justices, as opposed to being a single justice himself on the court. So the potential additions to the SC are higher with Cruz in the WH than on the SC itself.
