I recall all the horror stories in the media, about the 1990s or so, about seniors getting their savings accounts drained and their houses taken away from them because they “couldn’t afford” their medical maintenance. And of course, the only solution posed was more government. Funny how things went that way after government got involved in medicine . . .

Yes, medical care is too expensive. Yes, everything is too expensive.
It’s a vicious cycle.

Vi·chy. [ˈvēSHē, ˈviSHē] DEFINITION 1.a town in south central France; pop. 26,555 (2006). A noted spa town, it is the source of an effervescent mineral water. During World War II, it was the headquarters of the regime set up after the German occupation of northern France to administer unoccupied France and the colonies. Never recognized by the Allies, the regime functioned as a puppet government for the Nazis.

When 2016 turns out like 2008 and 2012, don’t say you were not warned.

Same old playbook. Get the Conservatives shooting at each other so the GOPE candidate skates into the Nomination.

Conservatives must be insane. No matter how many times they get take by this GOpe trick, they fall for it again 4 years later.

here a notion. Instead of shooting at your own, make a case FOR your candidate for change instead.

I don't disagree with the concept, just not sure it works for those who run to the doctor for the most expensive medication and treatment they can get every time they stub their toe.

Not to mention those seniors that have no choice in the fact the medication that keeps them alive is brutally expensive. Just one medication my mother needs can run anywhere from $425 to $1200 depending on where in the donut hole she is. Her and my dad worked hard all their lives and saved, but her savings would not outlive her needs with what Carson appears to be advocating. But then there are a great many who would rather our seniors were all eliminated from the government tab.

Actually its 2000 a year from the day you are born, so a 65 year old retiree would have 130k plus interest. Which would be a good nest egg for health costs... but the problem is this model does not socialize the risk, like insurance does.

Health Care costs increased 1991-2009 between 5-7% a year depending on where you lived, on average, so lets split the difference and say that 2000 a year, actually is left alone by the government and makes a reasonable 6% return over that time.. that leaves you with 1.5 Million for your health care... not bad, for day to day health care, but 1 tramatic event can whipe that out... so you retire at 65 and at 67 you have a major event, brain cancer, and you wind up racking up over a million dollars in health care costs.... but you survive.. you are now 70, you have 15 more years to live on average and you have 300k to make it.. won’t happen.

The model doesn’t work... because you aren’t socializing the risk. Someone else, dies instantly in a car wreck at 70, most of his 1.5 Million is left, but if it was his, it goes to his heirs, not back into the pool to help cover the guy listed above....

I agree in principal if you set it up as a POOL contribiting a few k per year for all people and you make reasonable return on the money AND you keep the government from raiding it, this model would work, as that’s effectively what insurance is today... but I don’t think that is what he’s suggesting he’s suggesting the money is yours.. and in that model it just doesn’t work. You will have folks unable to get care because they can’t afford it.

I was warned by establishment republicans to vote for Dole, McCain, Romney or risk a Democrat President, senate and house. Well lets see I voted for all three poser losers and got what I got. This time I will vote my conscious and hell be damned. I have to live with myself. I will vet my own candidates thanks.

Rarely an effective tactics in any sort of battle to shoot at your own side instead of the enemy.

One of the reasons Trump, Carson and Cruz have been so successful against the GOPE. They know who the real enemy is.

Another instance of sound economics meet instant annihilation politics.

No insurance company wants a risk pool of our oldest and sickest citizens. None. They’d have no place to go. It’s a non-starter.

I'm a Senior, so I know the feeling. I get it that people depend on expensive medications in order to survive. What isn't happening is efforts to find cheaper solutions, both for now and for the future. Most doctors I've encountered have no clue about nutrition, natural healing, and boosting the immune system as alternatives to medication and vaccination.

Carson has not got a clue of what its like not to be well off. Especially when you are retired. $2,000 per year in govt assistance is like $2.00

My mother could no more pay $20,000 per year for insurance than the man in the moon. She would be bankrupted in a year. And so would millions of other people’s parents.

Ben Carson is a nice man and I’m sure a fine doctor. He is totally unprepared to be the President of the United States. And he won’t be.

I have no idea what you mean by “ground”?

Carson is no threat to Trump but you entirely miss the point. He will be if folks act the way you are and call him “stupid” or point out things about him either taken out of context or totally fabricated but repeated over and over. The communists plan is to destroy from within and they will happily take your help or anyone else on “our” side be it knowingly or unknowingly.

I am not for Carson so we are clear. I am glad he has brought up somethings such as speaking about sharia law and several other things including health care. I asked you if you are familiar with his ideas about and for health care because I believe it would do great things for the return to Liberty that we so desperately need.
Check out Doctor Carson’s health care and if you like it try to persuade others to check it out as well.

Government regulation is the communists way to destroy a Republic such as ours and it is working. Health care is the one of the cornerstones we have to “win” back from the communist takeover. It is second only to illegal alien invasion.

You are failing for the GOPe trap and that is exactly what I am addressing.
I am well aware of the GOPe and their relentless quest for power. I despise them as much as Lucifer himself. I have much more respect for anyone including communists who admit who they really are and fight for their ideology. I will fight them with every thread of my fiber until my death, but they are more honorable than the wolves in sheep’s clothing amongst us.

You don’t like Carson that’s fine but if he has a good idea that may be exactly what in God’s Providence we need from him use it. However every good thing is stolen by the wicked one and used for evil. To villanize him and create needless animosity amongst ourselves (conservatives) is counterproductive.

Hope this helps as to where I stand and why:

Oh he won’t run;

Oh he won’t send in his financial statement;

Oh he won’t last;

Oh he’s going to be dropping out;

Oh his numbers are going down;

Oh he is behind the pack;

OK, for over 100 days he has lead the Republican Candidates, he has filled more arenas, statiums, fairs, than any of the other candidates, and he has a gun plan out, and a tax plan out, and he has a multi-billion dollar company he is running, and a book coming out...and is speaking to events at least twice a week...

Now you tell me, what are the other candidates doing? Oh yes, Ben Carson LEFT his campaign to do a ‘book tour’ but Trump hasn’t left HIS campaign for his ‘book tour’....Jeb is whining about his brother’s name; Rubio, a sitting Senator from Fla isn’t showing up for votes in the Senate; and on and on...what are they doing? I’ll tell you what Trump is doing:

This is the Trump Train:

He has told us about illegal immigration, and how he would handle it;

He has shown that if we had good immigration laws, we wouldn’t have the people that blew up the World Trade Center Buildings, the Pentagon...and has proved what needs to be done to enact the laws;

He has told us about how to get jobs back into America, and what he would do to do it;

He has a tax plan, and how it works;

He has a gun plan, and how he would work it;

He has told us obumacare is bad for the country, and what he would do about it;

He has told us about the Social Security going broke, and what he is going to do about it;

He has told us that the immigrants are being treated better than our vets, and what he would do to change it;

He has told us why he is financing his own campaign and why he is doing that;

He has told us that he wants Education back in the States, not in the federal government; and how bad common core is and why;

He has told us why he wants to shut down the EPA, and the reasons why;

He has told us why P.C. is so bad, and how it is taking away our expression of the freedoms we have;

So this is why my support goes to Trump, he makes deals, he runs multi billion dollar companies, and owns them, with someone as brilliant as this, I want THIS someone to put America on its feet again....

Did you read my post or just paste some response you have saved?

Surely you value discussion about important topics as a conservative (I assume you identify as a conservative).

You display cult like behavior, no different than the majority of Obama supporters.

How else can I say it? I support Trump and Cruz. At this point either one will work for me.

Trump is the only candidate who can say he is not owned by anyone. This may be his greatest asset even beyond his vast business experience.
I am so thankful we have marginalized the establishment and have a few good viable candidates unlike the last several election cycles.

Medicare is PRETTY BIG ISSUE in that spending on it will soon surpass Sos Security. If Carson REALLY wanted to repeal it, why did he wait until now to start talking about it?

Instead he sounds like he’s a stalking horse for Hillary. Now that he has a high support level, he can start staying stupid things that will bring down Trump and/or anyone else that tries to run as a Republican in 2016.

The liberaltarians want to cut granny off from social security and medicare. No matter that it is the only government benefit that was actually paid for your the “insured.”

In the mean time you have millions of able bodied young people on welfare and the Department of reEducation dumbing down and morally twisting the coming generation with gusto. Our country is evil.
