Could someone clarify this issue.
We learned today that Ambassador Stevens did not have SoS Clinton’s private e-mail address. I assume that most ambassadors would have known her official address. Was her official e-mail address (and I suppose she had one) directly linked to her private address? Or did everything sent to her official address have to be forwarded (by someone) to her private mail?
You just send cables to the DOS and using tags and a slug line to go directly to SecState. For example: Ambassador Stephens to SECSTATE Only.
It is my understanding she exclusively used her private email address, otherwise her communications would have been captured on the State department system. She kept all of her ‘work product’ emails to herself for 2 years despite FOIA requests, etc. being made to State (who was answering that they had nothing ‘responsive’ to the requests.) Judge Sullivan re-opened a closed FOIA case once it was determined that she had not turned over emails to State. This is ‘killling’ the State Dept ... they have all these requests & then Hilly dumped her 55K documents on them .. in paper form so they can’t be word-searched, etc. ALL is manual. State is having to hire/train people to go through material that is/could be classified to redact info, then produce the docs to the various courts requesting them. It’s a nightmare. The government asked that the 17 cases be consolidated under one judge instead of many & that was refused :-)
The problem for her aides is that they were having to summarize classified info to get it to her private email .... and that is in violation of the law. There are already specific emails that get Cheryl & Huma in big trouble (which is why they’ve been “cooperative” ... Cheryl’s comments sound like she’s trying to start a “Let’s Make A Deal” scenario with the FBI). There is an “air gap” between the State classified system & Hilly’s private server - they could not be physically connected so “somebody” had to take the info off of the State classified system. The FBI has obtained thumb drives of the emails from Hilly’s lawyer Kendall ... they now have the meta data & word has it they are tracing emails back to see who the culprits in the state department are ... big trouble for them.
Stevens didn’t have her private email but sid vicious did even though she said the info sid sent her was unsolicited.
