You spend days cleaning the wounds left on you 11 year old 30 pound corgi mix trying to save its right leg from being lost after and attack by a 60 pound pit you might have a different attitude. The only reason she didn’t die was because we had just left the house and was still with in about 12-15 feet of my pick up. I saw the pit charging after having knock down its owner in its attempt to get my Hope. I scooped her up so I could place her in the truck bed when the pit leap and clamped down on her rear right leg. Luckly I was still wearing my steel toed work boots I kecj the SOB as hard as I could and it let go I got Hope into the bed and then jumped in myself. The owner come running hysterical crying apologies and trying to regain control of her pit. I look a Hope and could see some blood but it was dark I couldn’t see much and frankly her hysterics was getting on my nerves and I was ready to go off on her, but I could also tell she was honestly upset so I just told her to get her dog home so I could take Hope into the house and see how bad she was hurt. Took her to the after hours VET and they wanted to put a drain in and keep her, but she was already so traumatized I did want to leave her so he stitched her up gave us some stuff shot her up with pain killer and antibiotics and give us instructions on treating the wound which we did religiously ever four hours. We took her to our regular Vet on Monday and he was still not sure and he had us bring her back the next day. He praised us and said as long as we kept it up it look like she would heal nicely and it did.
So don’t try and promote or defend your Thug breed with me. I carry now and I will be more than happy to put as many bullets as I can into any that should come after us again. In fact I promise you I will need to reload after I stop shooting.
