Owners should be held directly responsible for the actions of their dogs and accept all liability for injuries, attacks and even death of other beings at the actions of their pets.

Parents should know full well that these dogs are never to be trusted around children, period. To expose children to these animals is to put them in unnecessary danger to serious injury and even death.

Yep. Furthermore, it should be legal for people to shoot the dogs on sight if they are running loose on property other than their home property (but that has to do with 2A), and it should be legal for landlords to immediately evict a tenant (none of this two weeks or two months notice crap) and totally legal for neighbors to immediately dispatch and resolve a dangerous pit bull situation in their 'hood (such as the moron I saw who kept a snarling, barking pit bull behind a two-and-a-half-foot fence next to a sidewalk where children walked to and from school, a tragedy waiting to happen). Owners of pit bulls and other aggressive warrior-type dogs should know that in legal terms, they own these critters at their risk, not the risk of the people around them.

But banning them, eradicating the breed -- WRONG way to go about it, with consequences MORE dangerous than the dogs.
