Why do folks have such a hard time understanding what Trump is saying?
He was not saying Bush knew we were going to be attacked on 9-11 in the way we were attacked.
He said we knew something LIKE 9-11 was going to happen, that it was inevitable, and that it required our highest level of concern and attention.
This is not a controversial statement. A mildly well informed person knew this was going to happen, just as a mildly well informed person knows NOW that it is going to happen again in some form or another.
Trump is talking about competence. He is talking about anticipating a problem and doing something effective to address it.
He has said it is not possible to know if additional steps (for example, by addressing immigration both legal and illegal) would have prevented 9-11, but that it might have, and more importantly we need to address the problem now (for example, by addressing immigration both legal and illegal).
I think Rush is wrong about this, and I think Trump is a more subtle thinker than he gets credit for. In that respect, he is a lot like Palin.
Because they hate Trump and will use any opportunity to attack him.
They don’t want to understand him, they want to destroy him.
Trump is not a thinker. He is a rich guy with a 500 word vocabulary.
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
“This is not a controversial statement. A mildly well informed person knew this was going to happen...”
BS... nobody was expecting an attack like 9/11. Al Qaeda up to that point were the gang who couldn’t shoot straight. They bungled several attacks and the only successful ones they pulled off were in foreign countries, and they got pretty lucky on those too.
Everyone was shocked that morning at what happened, and to try to say otherwise tells me you are either too young to remember, or you are willing to say absolutely anything to defend Trump.
You are correct. I think that most people who misunderstand Trump do so willfully. I also believe, from many years observation on this site, that a lot of these same people are paid GOPe disrupters.
