No, it’s entertainment first. And secondly, it’s an allegory showing the benefits of BEING PREPARED AND BEING WILLING TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY to fight “monsters”.
Could be both. I work with two women who like it. Both said they like to follow the relationships. One also admitted to liking the genre.
I tried it but found the violence numbing. And I don't want to be completely desensitized to brutal violence.
Depends on the person. Some may watch it for the gore. But if you read the article or any of the TWD threads, the vast majority of the people watch it for the survivalism, prepperism, conservativism, and pure drama of humanity struggling to survive after modernity has collapsed.
