Well; I am glad we agree that CRUZ would be an OUTSTANDING President.
As to TRUMPS statement; I don't think any body on this thread said it was one of the “greatest utterances a candidate could ever make”.
When any person is speaking off the cuff; that includes professional speakers, debaters, politicians, sales people, etc. they will say things that either don't make sense in context, or the choice of words just doesn't come out the way they would have chosen, given enough time to think a response through.
TRUMP doesn't use notes as far as I have seen up to this point, so his responses don't always come off the way you, I, or even he would like.
Hell, even with a functional teleprompter OBUNGHOLE manages to screw up all his speeches, get him off script and all you hear is UUHH, UUMM, IIHH, OOHH, I,I,I,I.
Cut the man some slack; I used to be on a debate team.
I used to argue my side of the issue, then half way through I would switch and argue the other side.
I usually won both sides according to the judges.
I am good at it, but impromptu even I will surly screw up occasionally.
The words just keep coming out of the mouth and you are trying to keep on top of the issue, some times the words just don't come out the way you would have wanted, or liked, it happens.
In my opinion; any body who has never screwed up when speaking publicly has either been scripted to the point of mindlessness, or is so sure of their position that no facts or other information can ever change their position.
