In the days after the fatal shooting of nine black churchgoers in Charleston, S.C., in June, Senator Lindsey Graham, the Republican presidential candidate from the state, joined the calls to remove the Confederate battle flag from the State House grounds. Weeks later, it was gone.
And on Thursday, as Mr. Graham was discussing the issue with reporters from The Boston Globe and its spinoff website, Boston.com, he put Massachusettss state flag on the hot seat.
You got an Indian with a whats that all about? Mr. Graham asked, according to Boston.com. What is that is the guy holding a severed arm?
It is actually a free-floating arm holding a sword, floating above a blue shield emblazoned with an Indian.
I never understood what that was all about, Mr. Graham said.
Massachusettss flag has long raised concerns among Native Americans and some others there. It drew renewed scrutiny amid the Confederate flag debate, including in a Boston Globe column that called it blindingly archaic, but efforts to change it have not gained traction.
Minnesotas state flag, which depicts an Indian with a spear riding a horse past a farmer, was also criticized in the news media this summer.
In June, Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts, a Republican, said, I would say if there is an interest among the players, and there are many, to have a conversation on the flag, I would certainly be happy to participate in that.

They tried this once: In 2010, Ken Cuccinelli, Attorney General of Virginia, gave his staff lapel pins with Virtus bosom covered by an armored breastplate. His spokesman, Brian Gottstein, said the pin was paid for by Cuccinellis political action committee, not with taxpayer funds.
Yep.... guess you are right
apparently some sane folks departed Mass for Texas
I had to put something into this thread....Lindsay Graham does not lend himself to much learning!
Someone should tell Linseed that it’s not an Indian on the shield. It’s an Italian dressed as an Indian just like in the movies.
Yeah, tell that to the men who died under that banner. The 58 law is a bunch of libs feeling guilty. I wish those beave men could rise from their grave and have this conversation with you.
Goober's a hoot. I loved him on Andy Griffith
Don't get him started about this one:
It doesn’t matter that he led the charge - in the narrow context of this incident. And no, I didn’t toot Graham’s horn. That’s just childish of you to say and go damned effen stupid as to infuriate me, because stupidity does that.
“Thats just childish of you to say and go damned effen stupid as to infuriate me, because stupidity does that.”
In your cups are you?
No one believes you, and no one cares about what you think or have pretended to do, simply because you have no capacity to get your facts straight.
And somehow you think you are some kind of hero for not getting paid for working on a political campaign? News to you: most people don't get paid for working political campaigns, but it's the political whores like you who whine when they don't.
Your intellectual "contributions" to anything are legendary in your mind alone.
you know I am so deep into your head that you have your sick little insecure projected fantasies about me....because your post is about me, not the substance. FTR, I only mentioned I worked for Lindsey's opponent and did so for free in large part to keep little dweebs like you from assuming I was pro Graham simply because I liked his little shot at the Massachusetts flag. No doubt you would have, but you had to shift gears in your personal attack...but nonetheless, it was still a personal attack.

no, not copy cats...... the Scots learned that Massachusetts was for fags and migrated to greatness, to Texas
You think you're living in my head yet it clearly appears that it is you who are the one with the nervous tick (or just reeling from the intellectual bitch slapping you're taking from a host of better-informed FReepers.)
Or then again maybe it's just more of that one-finger typing thing ... still must have that other finger living in your nostril. How's that point 'n' pick workin' for you?
fantasies about me.... Every momma's basement "millennial's" wet dream. You really should come up for air more often.
...but nonetheless, it was still a personal attack
Man-up, Eddie.
If your region of the country -- where the homes are mobile and the cars aren't -- actually contributed something more to the founding of this Nation than merely a "Lost Colony" you might have more to brag about than just being the place where they raise the crops to stuff cancer sticks.
Massachusetts fired "the shot heard 'round the world." By contrast, North Carolina has merely fired the chaw that's ricocheted around the spittoon.
So, Eddie, in your part of NC do the double-wides come with full momma's basement or are you still just competing for space with your kid sister's Barbie dolls, the short wave, and that case of Glen Beck's desiccated celery in the survival shelter that doubles as your phone bank?
