Since McDonald's launched an all-day breakfast menu last week, a number of their franchisees are not 'lovin' it' and say it has been a nightmare. Franchisees say that serving breakfast all-day has slowed down service, lowered average bills and sparked utter chaos in the restaurant giant's kitchens.
Twenty-nine operators overseeing 226 different locations in the US were surveyed by Mark Kalinowski, an analyst for the Japanese finance company Nomura. He found that since the new menu items were added last Tuesday, many of the franchisees were struggling.
'In small stores, the problems are vast with people falling over each other and equipment jammed in everywhere,' one franchisee wrote in response to Kalinowski's survey. Another said: 'Customers are abandoning us in droves because we are either too slow, or sub-par quality.'
Some restaurant owners also said the launch has forced them to hire more employees, which has increased costs.

Ha, well some places like Papa Gino’s (Italian place in Northeast) do open at 10:30 am; Wendy’s may, too...
McDonald’s breakfasts suck at 6 am. Their Egg McMuffin comes from a rubber chicken I think. They sold the same stuff 20 yeas ago. At least Burger King tries to put a little variety in their breakfast. Alot of gas stations now can cook you a real eggs sandwich in a few mins.
But, are you okay with the geico kenny rogers card game commercial? LOL! I’ve almost shot the gambler on screen a couple of times. Besides, that ain’t really kenny rogers is it? Doesn’t look like him. Hope he got some change from the plastic surgeon in Tijuana. :>|
I was going thru mail at the mailbox and saw an oversize, full color, slick/glossy postcard from McDonald’s advertising their “all day” breakfast. Since I was collecting the rollout garbage cans at the time, the postcard (and other junk) went straight into the recycle.
This idea to me was stupid from the get go.. I have never decided at 3pm I would like a breakfast sandwich, I have however often desired a burger prior to 10:30am.
“Now? They have ALWAYS been that way”
I had in mind the Juicy Fruit commercial, for one. For me, that is a new low.
IHOP has always been grossly overpriced for what they deliver, but they have their devotees anyway.
And when in Texas, there is always Whataburger at any hour.
Go to a WhataBurger.
See my #28. :-)
Wish they had Whataburger here.
They are floundering and trying to grab at anything that will right their ship. The following big changes so far. Dumping their kids theme mascot Ronald Mcdonald and his gang . Remaking them into versions of Starbucks. Now the all day breakfast. Btw the Canuck McDonalds decided against all day breakfast. They do a switchover sometime before noon like before.
Unfortunately there are none of these near me... Closest one was in Akron, but it closed a few years ago now.. now closest is Columbus about 4 hours away.
Wish there was a White Castle here.
I suspect that's because the kitchens are organized differently.
Too bad you can’t get a taquito all day long.
Could care less about the stupid commercials. We got coupons in the mail, they went in the trash. If my gun is not welcome, then I just simply avoid your store. Even the drive through. Since you went so PC I just avoid your product, it sucks any way.
Those breakfast sandwiches are FROZEN eggs, unless you get the McMuffin. The biscuits are pre-baked, they just warm them in the oven. Then shove them in the Microwave to nuke them slightly hotter. All the meat is pre-cooked earlier in the morning. No telling how long it’s sat in that pan in the back.
This is my reason I don't use McD's.
You’re obviously not the kind of person for whom 3PM is the morning and breakfast time then.
McD’s is just trying to cater to their new core clientele.
Poor planning by McDonalds, or poor planning by the franchise owners? Other fast food places seem to have made the transition to all day breakfast just fine over the years.
I was traveling the other day and ended up eating a McDonalds sausage biscuit. I stood there for a moment considering whether I should eat there or just skip the meal.
I chose poorly.
I sure hope the liberal elites eat there...
