I agree, the CIA doesn't take kindly to imposters, and although I'm certainly not making excuses for that mutt, I'm wondering if it might be a case of Simmons becoming delusional and believing his own pack of lies, and thinking he could go on TV and propagate those lies to the world and never be challenged.
We've certainly seen that kind of behavior out of Emperor Barky since January 2009.
