A Republican National Committee conference call to discuss plans for the Oct. 28 GOP debate with top advisers to the presidential campaigns spiraled into chaos on Thursday afternoon as Donald Trump threatened to pull out of the debate if his demands for the format are not met.
On the call, according to three sources who were on the line, Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager, said that if the debate does not include opening or closing statements and is longer than two hours total, including commercial breaks, the real estate mogul would have to reconsider his participation.

Screw these greedy networks. Have the debates on CSPAN without commercials. Let the candidates and the RNC choose the moderators.
As low as CNBC is, it's still higher on the totem pole than The Politico.
Therefore, nothing bad can be said about it.
This is smart. He should push that the stage be limited to the top 5 or 6 candidates at most OR to those getting at least 7, 8 or 10% in the polls. Pick one and stick with it. Start at 15% end at 8%.
This will narrow the field and eliminate the ankle biters at the bottom. There only purpose is to tear him down anyway. It might also eliminate Bush from the main stage as he is below water and already showing signs of drowning.
He pulls out and the debates are meaningless. Their audience will be halved at least. No one is tuning in to see that great orator JEB! He would get better response by buying a half hour of television on a competing network to run at the same time as the debate and buying up several of the slots during the debate.
With Trump the debate would be CNBC’s highest rating.
He should buy an hour of time on another network and just hold his own debate. Let the ratings speak for themselves.
Like a town hall debate format.
