The LIBS have been preaching(claiming) this for years.

You would think they would arrive at the conclusion that if the ‘Native Americans?? (What were they before Columbus named this place America??) had been armed and repelled the ‘invaders’ (however seemingly peaceful) - Of course the real mistake was not seeing into the future and really putting the kibosh on the whole ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION scene at Plymouth Rock?

All the peaceful Sioux, riding horses and hunting bison on the plains for thousands of years before Columbus showed up.

No..wait..they did none of those things.

I am Choctaw. Indians I know are WAY OVER whatever occurred in 1492. I am more pissed off about the billions in stolen timber monies and oil/gas royalties that the Interior Department lost/stole from individuals and tribes from the 1920 to the 1990’s.

Hope you don't mind this question. If the Indians of the US are actually offended by the mascot name "Redskins", I think it should be changed. But if this is just a bunch of PC whiners and rabble rousers and attention seeking activists, then they should be told to STFU, etc. I think it should be voted on by the tribes.

Do you think that name is offensive to a significant number of Indians in the US?

So, Columbus was accused by Barky as having introduced the “Indigenous peoples of Central/South America” to organized cannibalism?

I studied under Dr. Kessler and even she thought cannibalism was part and parcel of Meso-American socities.

But, what would a tenured professor of MesoAmerican Archeology, holding an endowed chair at Columbia University, know compared to Barky?

Obama Celebrates Columbus Day: Ushered In “Disease,Devastation,And Violence”

Indians ushered in their own “Devastation,And Violence” on each other.

Once again, the idiot-in-chief shows his total ignorance...

History seems to indicate that “disease, devastation and violence” seemed to result every time people from a different area and culture met for the first time, and I’m guessing those people considered it unprecedented every time.

Apparently, one group of our ancestors have been conquering another group of them, sacking their cities, enslaving the population, bringing new sicknesses etc from the beginning of human history-so what makes Columbus’ foray into the new world any different?

We know that racism was in the DNA of Columbus, and that the indigenous people were as pure as the wind-driven snow.

If it wasn’t for Columbus the Indians would still be living in teepees, hunting buffalo with bows and arrows and scalping their enemies.

I’m sure Obola could survive that life for at least an hour.
