So what is stopping her from announcing that she will run for the position?

See my post 19.
What is sad is that McClintock was an uncompromising member of the California legislature, blocking budgets and refusing to give in, using a minority status to the fullest extent possible. He has clearly been seduced by Washington. I never thought it could happen to him. He may be the biggest disappointment there. Imagine if Reagan had gone to DC, and governed as Bush. That's what it's like.

” The Republican party is quite unified. Just look at all their campaign adds from the last election”
That’s a joke, right?
I mean, you’re trying to define who these people are based on their lying ads?

While Trey Gowdy’s ratings at vote smart.org are good, Tom McClintock’s rating are better

Tell former Speaker John Boehner the Freedom Caucus failed. Tell Speaker wannabe McCarthy the Freedom Caucus failed. The surrender caucus doesn’t get to define victory. Maybe if they had been working to solidify a base, instead of preemptively surrendering they would not be in such disarray.

A good leader could force them to do what they know is right.

“A good leader could force them to do what they know is right.”
Your problem is that lots of them believe wrong is right.

“And give up putting Hillary in prison?”
You crack me up.
ValJar and Michelle are not about to allow Hillary into the White House, never mind the Big He.
What’s going on now is a negotiation over the price of her dropping out.
Apparently a pardon for the email problem is not enough. Since the Foundation is the actual problem, I imagine Team Clinton wants pardons for all 3 of them + Mills, Kendall, and others. This Obama is unwilling to do.
It’s unknown how much Team Clinton has on “Obama”. It’s also unknown how much the FBI can come up with to make indictments over the Foundation crimes (bribery, tax evasion, and espionage) stick.
So, there’s a temporary stalemate.
However, once the two unresolved issues are on the table, Hillary will stand down and will get a pardon.
She will never be President, but she will never stand trial, either.

I don’t have a problem at all. You certainly do. Why don’t you refute what I say, not what I am. Bye
