I don't know about Oregon - but in Washington, even the Seattle area, mosquitoes (and other bugs) are minimal. I still think it is odd that most homes here don't have screen doors - just leave the door open if you want a breeze. (Growing up in Minnesota a screen door was a must. And a mom standing there yelling at you if you dallied as you walked in or out.)
