As a matter of fact it is now possible to transform Lead (Pb) into Gold (Au), but the cost of doing so is currently far greater than the economic value of the Gold. Doing so requires using a cyclotron to bombard the nucleus of a Lead atom with subatomic particles to increase the number of subatomic particles in the nucleus to that composing an atom of Gold.
Now, about transforming you into a Newt....
