Ted Cruz says Donald Trump won't be Republican nominee
washington times ^ | 10/8/2015 | Seth McLaughlin

Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday that he doesn’t think that Donald Trump will capture the 2016 GOP presidential nomination and predicted that it is only a matter of time before most of the New York billionaire’s supporters will move into his camp. During an appearance on WABC-AM Radio, host Rita Cosby asked Mr. Cruz whether he would eventually move past Mr. Trump based on his conservative principles, and the Texas Republcian said “I think that’s right.” “In time, I don’t believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think in time the lion’s share of his supporters end up with us,” Mr. Cruz said. Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination and has touted how some of his rivals have sunk in the polls after attacking him. But he has not traded barbs with Mr. Cruz, who has been Mr. Trump’s biggest ally in the crowded GOP field. In the WABC-AM interview, Mr. Cruz continued to praise Mr. Trump, saying he liked and respected “Donald.” Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump has boosted his candidacy and his chance of becoming the party’s standard-bearer. “I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign because it has framed the central question of the primary as: Who will stand up to Washington?” Mr. Cruz said. “And if that’s the central question, the natural next question, that any voter will ask is okay, well who actually has stood up to Washington? Who has a record in that regard?” The Cruz campaign also announced Thursday that he will report raising $12.2 million over the last three months — exceeding the hauls of fellow Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, who plans to report $6 million, and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who raised $2.5 million.

If Trump — if the people of the USA — give God even half a chance in their lives, they will be amazed.

Going to church is a misnomer, even though the scriptures do admonish Christians to keep assembling for worship. Christians are the church.

I understand your attempt to heal this breach - but, it’s just something that has bugged me for so long and I couldn’t put my finger on it. Call it a deep gut feeling or woman’s intuition or whatever. I just felt that something wasn’t ringing true about Cruz. I think he is a good man, but I also think he is a weasel too. Can one be both? Yes.

"…..if you can honestly support massive increases in H1-B visas or amnesty."

Yep. He really fought that gang of 8 bill! (by adding an amendment that increased H1B visas by over a qtr million and eliminated means testing for illegals to get welfare.)

One could be the very picture of virtue and yet remain just that... a picture.

Paragraphs are your friend!

I suspect this is a hit piece on Cruz.

He can’t possibly be that stupid. But the clueless progressive morons, planting crap like this? Definitely!

...but at some point we’re going to have to look at Trump overall, and realize he’s the real deal.

But what if we look closely and find he is not the real deal, at least not yet?

...and can still deliver the Saul/Paul experience.

But Paul stayed away from ministry for seven years after his conversion. It was only when Barnabas brought him to the disciples that he was to become the great leader of the early church. How many years has it been since Trump has been called to conservationism? Does his ego and pride constitute a sin or a virtue? The Saul/Paul analogy really does not seem fitting at least at the present time. I pray that Trump is trusting in Christ alone for his righteousness before the throne of God's ultimate justice. I also pray that he is humble before the LORD and abhors his sin and arrogance. I hope one day to see the fruit of repentance, right now not so much.

One of Trump’s advisors didn’t agree with what Cruz said....

@TedCruz expects 2get #Trump2016 supporters...saying @realDonaldTrump will not get the #GOP nominee. I disagree! https://t.co/5TxnUUrtmf—; Daniel Scavino Jr. (@DanScavino) October 9, 2015

I believe it was an error for Cruz to say this too.

Folks can disagree with me if they like. It won't make much difference.

I would say you have pretty much nailed it Doughty.

I know Trump appreciates prayers.

Who are YOU to judge his "repentance" and the timing of such?

A person who has had David-like struggles with the Lord is probably going to do better in faith than a Solomon who had it all set out for him from the beginning. David wasn’t as broadly wise as his famous son, but what he did for the Lord, was from much deeper in his heart. David repented (through bitter chastisement) from the bad attitudes engendered by his wicked streak. Solomon went for the technical excuses and accommodated his pagan wives in pagan sacrifices. So who was “smarter” in the end?

We’d need to ask about Cruz too. Was he born with that spiritual silver spoon or is he a prodigal son who now knows from the heart that God is at deepest heart not even a bunch of morals, but love? The morals being the description of how it is expressed?

There’s nothing wrong with testing the sauce on the goose, but test it on the gander too.

If there were no Cruz in the race, would Trump have cared so openly about things like 2nd Amendment?

How can you tell there is a Cruz in the race? Freepers are not representative of the general population and not many our friends even know who Cruz is.
