Ryan’s whole attitude on the budget was wrong.
He was determined to cut the budget until it was balanced, when the problem is that the economy is in the doldrums and there are way too many people unemployed.
Fix the economy and you don’t have to go after the commitments we’ve made in social security and Medicare.
I didn't realize that but if so, my impression of Paul Ryan improved slightly although I never thought he was much of a conservative. But that's exactly what we need to do. We need to cut the budget, cut spending .. but also more importantly cut corporate and individual tax rates. Then to your point ... lower taxes will drive growth and help improve the economy.
