I wonder, for entertainment value if nothing else, if the GOPe were to offer Trump the Speakership in trade for leaving the Presidential race, would he take the deal. When did Trump get elected to the House of Reps?

Speakers don't have to be members. If no RINOs are willing to publically vote for Pelosi and no RATs willing to to the same for a RINO and the nominally GOP caucus can't find 218 caucus votes for any member then the only alternative is to find someone outside the House on whom enough can agree. Some would take him as a clear improvement on the status quo. Some might accept him there for a year to rid themselves of him elsewhere. The biggest downside for the Donald is that having Obama as his caddy would hurt his golf game.
