You know, my father knew Barry in passing. Being activist Republicans in Arizona back then, you hardly could not.
I can still see that AUH2O bumper sticker on the ‘59 Chrysler.
Never thought about how amazing it was to grow up Republican in Arizona in the 1960s.
My sister was a Goldwater girl at the convention in ‘64. Couldn’t tell by her now, she’s Hillary’s soul sister.
The one thing we all knew about Goldwater is that he said what he thought. There was no ulterior motive, what you saw was what you got.
He had no pretense, and no will to power except to do what was right.
Think about that.
The Queen and the American Flag are just symbols, acting as proxy for national loyalty.
And, for those of you who fret over the Queen being just a woman... no better than anyone else... etc. etc., I remind you that taken at face value, our flag is just cloth stitched together in a pretty sequence of stars and stripes.
Words to live by.
It goes without saying that this country needs a man like Barry Goldwater again.
