Good idea. Butter can be very appealing to dogs, too. One of our dogs ate an entire stick of butter when she was a puppy.

I cook everything in butter! I think that's the reason he loved those "over easy eggs" and the brussel sprouts and cooked carrots. All were soaked in butter.

The butter has worked well for me.
Not a smear, just enough for a slight glaze all over, make it shiny not buttery. Hides the med smell long enough for eating. Otherwise, it’s mouth to mouth spitball.
