The House beat back an attempt Wednesday to dismantle the committee probing the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks as Republicans rallied around the controversial probe just two weeks before former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is slated to testify before it.
Democrats have accused the Select Committee on Benghazi of being little more than a political attack machine designed to derail Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign, and have seized on comments by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy as evidence. ep. Louise Slaughter, New York Democrat, proposed disbanding the panel, but Republicans ruled that out of order and then voted along party lines, 240-183, to shoot down an appeal.

Why would we ever allow him to become Speaker with this strong indication he is unfit to lead the House?
The Republicans need a different approach to undercovering the truth regarding Benghazi. The US spends over $6 billion per year maintaining the 6th Fleet in the Med. The committee ought to subpoena the Admiral commanding that fleet at the time. He should be asked (with his subordinates in the room) under oath why the fleet was not monitoring the events in Benghazi, why ships were not steaming toward Benghazi and why an assault team of on board Marines and Seals was not prepared to intervene. The hunch is all those things actually did occur. Really? Then who ordered the commanders to stand down? etc, etc.
McCarthy backing Hillary, guess he thought if he did that, his extra marital affair wouldn't come out or if Hillary were to win the election...don't laugh, there are people walking around out there that think this is going to happen, that he would get a fancier jobs with bells and whistles....
Well I guess not now, someone in the House found a backbone and stood up....maybe now others MIGHT follow????
Knowing Hillary’s tendency for outright elimination, perhaps he was simply trying to save his own skin from the fate of Ron Brown, Vince Foster, etc.
Really, do we really want to back thru all of this again....we lived it, everyday there was something that the Clintons were doing to or with or without...
I'm so clinton fatigued I'm actually tired.....
Has this committee asked where obama and Hillary Clinton were on 9/11/12 and why no help was sent to the Americans under attack? Why obama partied the next day? Where the missing Americans are? Just where are they?
I have not heard those questions asked. The republicans are just using the men killed or wounded for political purposes and fund raising and nothing else.
