I approach riding my Harley like everything else, I obey the law (with occasional adrenalin fueled lapses when encountering remote, lightly traveled twisties) , drive defensively, and when I encounter LEOs I am calm, respectful, and alert them to my CHL (required under Texas law).

I have yet to be stopped without good cause and have gotten only one ticket, other than a warning, and that was from a rookie in training with his senior officer present. I have been let off with warnings when the law called for arrest (100+ MPH).

"Yes, sir" and "No, sir" go a long way, regardless of who you are and what you are riding/driving.

That, and a truthful explanation of why your were doing what you were doing in the first place, goes a long way, per experience.
