No. I've been a software engineer working with data for 30 years. Never used the word "datum" nor have any of my associates used the word.

Software engineers are only “engineers” by title, not by doing.

Datum is an important concept that cannot be conveyed by the plural of one of its meanings.

If you don’t understand the concept of a datum, I’m not going to further hijack the thread to educate you.
