White House press secretary Josh Earnest on Tuesday said the GOPs 2016 presidential field could help fight gun violence by pushing for the expansion of Medicaid.
We have heard [Republican White House] candidates talk about an openness to work with the administration on gun violence, he told reporters during the White Houses daily press briefing.
Many of them talk about improving mental healthcare, Earnest said. "One of the biggest providers of mental healthcare especially in disadvantaged communities is Medicaid.
For those who say they want to work with the administration in limiting gun violence, we would welcome the support for the Affordable Care Act and expanding Medicaid."

That’s working out real well in Chicago..
How? By denying gun owners healthcare?
This is the same administration that believes expanding and liberalizing EBT cards will improve the economy
Fewer dollars for ammo?
Exactly so. Who’s to say that the reason there are so many gun related deaths in Chicago isn’t because the community there is full of rabid and feral inner city youths. How about that? There’s no amount of money or mental healthcare that can fix that problem.
It probably lowers ocean levels too.
Sure. With 0-care and all the other insurance mandates, you get electronic medical records which provides a direct means for big brother to find out what meds you’re taking. Anti-depressants, opioids, anti-anxiety drugs are all reasons for the Federal thugs to confiscate guns.
Sure, we’ll all be safe in a FEMA camp or prison. NOT.
Nope, by denying gun owners guns via some BS medical “diagnosis”.
Same thing either way.
The COMMIES can always do it better.....
How about banning the med’s with “homicidal tendencies” listed as side effects for a start?
“How? By denying gun owners healthcare?”
Look what they are doing to vets- instead of being “adjudicated” (this involves due process and a judge) as mentally incompetent, they are seeing if the vet has someone else cash the VA checks. Then they get an MD to declare that person “mentally incompetent” and per GCA68, they declare that that vet cannot buy or possess a gun. No due process, no judge.
Now imagine if they expand this into Medicare and widen the scope a little, they can illegally disarm millions (not really, it will turn millions into criminals).
Lets ban the guns but don’t dare look at this:
A Canadian judge has ruled that Prozac caused a teenage boy to murder his friend, as the drug caused him to overreact in an impulsive, explosive and violent way
Many drugs, particularly antidepressants, are associated with violence, including suicidal and homicidal tendencies. Of the top 10 drugs linked to violence, half are antidepressants
Recent research has discovered that certain genetic variations may predispose you to homicidal behavior following exposure to antidepressants, due to an inability to properly metabolize the drugs
Studies have found that up to 75 percent of the benefits of antidepressants can be duplicated by a placebo. So not only are these drugs ineffective, but the evidence is clear that most of these drugs in fact increase your risk of suicide and violence, including homicide
I’ve never seen a violent gun.
Where can I get one of these guns that are prone to violence?
Wrong. We can spend the money on some tactical nukes to use on the South side of Chicago. Problem solved. :)
