When my son had become a Marine (reservist) but before he was fully trained and deployed, there was an incident near his apartment in downtown Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth U. Gunfire in the wee hours of the morning.
He and his roommate ((Army reservist, later at Mosul, Iraq during the tent bombing) jumped up and went outside and ran in the direction of the gunfire. Turned out to be a couple local scum shooting their 9mm’s at each other.
Though ill-advised, they did not fear for themselves. Both those boys fought well in Iraq, though my son didn’t make it back alive.
May God be with you and yours.
I wish I could shake your hand and hug you for your loss. I’m so sorry. Thank you.
Thank you for allowing your son to be one of us and he will be in my thoughts and prayers always. Semper fi
