Much to the chagrin of the liberal media, several Republican presidential contenders have been focused on the issue of mental health in the wake of Oregons mass shooting, and their argument just got a big boost.
Christopher Harper-Mercer, the 26-year-old gunman who killed nine people at Umpqua Community College before taking his own life, was suffering from mental health issues, according to his own mother.
Excerpts of the manifesto authored by the killer emerged Monday, suggesting mental health played a role.
Harper-Mercer had spared the life of a student to deliver an envelope containing a flash drive that is now in the possession of police. The student read portions of the manifesto to a reporter.
Ive been forced to align myself with these demons and become one of them, the source said, reading the manifesto aloud. At first, it was involuntary, but now I am aligned with them. I now serve. When I die I will become one of them.
My success in Hell is assured, Harper-Mercer continued. Other people think Im crazy, but Im not. Im the sane one.

Some opine that the problem with such meds is they DO restore one’s ability to handle reality ... giving them the cognitive tools to carry out the mass murders they only fantasized before.
Psychoactive meds have a wide range of applications & influence. I’m just speaking from close proximity to someone who needed it (yes, it actually was helpful), but when (several times) 2-3 doses were missed, O.M.G.W.T.F. it was bad for a week. Everything made sense to the patient, and the sensible reaction was a scathing screed of verbal abuse delivered with such precision & clarity & force that you’d not know what the he11 was happening but you sure were the he11spawn causing it. Getting off the meds involved weeks of opening capsules and counting individual grains to SLOWLY reduce the dosage. Some people are unstable, some meds do help, and going cold-turkey on those meds for as little as 1 day can send someone into a rage few have ever encountered.
And alongside that issue, some people are just plain f***ed up from the start, stuff piles on, and they just decide to take as many with them as possible by any means necessary (recall the guy who stole a tank and drove it down the freeway; recall the guy who torched a dance club with a gallon of gasoline).
It is self-protection. Many of them are dealing with mental health issues themselves. In fact, being a Liberal is practically a mental health issue in itself. It indicates a strong desire to escape from reality.
I am waiting to see Uber for Hookers. Maybe named Screwer.
Our society is against betas becoming alphas. Unless you have an alpha in your family you have a hard row to hoe.
Very true. My dad is a great guy, has been successful for himself and a loving father. But, he ill prepared me for life. Took a few years as a recon scout with the US Cavalry to sort that out.
And then there could be an Uber-like service that drives people to and from such meetings...they could name it Screwdriver.
The excerpts suggest he was wallowing in victimhood and self pity. Now, where did he learn that?
