Real estate tycoon Donald Trump insisted Tuesday that he was nowhere near ending his 2016 White House bid, despite slipping a bit in some polls.
"Why would I get out?" Trump asked, pointing out that he is still leading polls for the Republican presidential nomination. "I'm not going anywhere."
Trump has suggested in several interviews that he may end his White House bid if he dropped into the low single digits, like several other candidates in the field.
"The media is so dishonest, it's so disgusting," Trump said of how his remarks were interpreted in coverage of his campaign. "I'm not getting out. I'm going to win."
Immediately following the interview, Trump retweeted two supporters who called CNNs Chris Cuomo and his questions pathetic.
"@LindaRicker6: My choice @realDonaldTrump just finished a great interview on CNN. Pathetic questions from Cuomo but Trump cleared the air."— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 6, 2015
"@Lisa_Steen: seriously Cuomo hates DonaldTrump he was a pathetic interviewer AS USUAL! Please don't go anywhere Mr Trump AMERICA NEEDS YOU"— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 6, 2015
Trump, who has led in the polls for more than two months, saw his lead shrink in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire in polling released Sunday.
The businessman saw his 16-point lead over his nearest rival get cut to 5 points in New Hampshire, according to NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polling.
He is also leading by just 5 points in Iowa, besting neurosurgeon Ben Carson there 24 to 19 percent, compared to a 7-point lead last month.
That image is available on a rather pricey t-shirt, but I am thinking it might be fun to wear it around a college campus as primary season gets rolling...
I'm so jealous.....
Remember, Rush said Trump would regret making that statement?
Rush was right again, as almost always!
I have to bathe!!!
He real just like Gov. Palin. What you see is want you get. To me that’s important.
YES!
I couldn’t make up my mind which color I wanted, so I decided to order all three.
Now, I want RED, too, so I’m going to get RED also!!!
Hey, Mr. Trump includes a nice BUMPER Sticker and I got a nice key chain, too.
Yes, no wonder they got along so well and that they like each other and became close friends!!
Be back shortly.
I have errands today.
Must bathe or shower and in a hurry!!!
But he’s going to drop out.....
:-)
Even if shadowy operatives try to sabotage his daughter’s wedding?
Of course he’s going to win. He’s been spit upon in every single media venue save Breitbart since GOP debate #1 and he’s still leading. Comparatively, no one else ever even says or does anything let alone gets questioned on anything. No one else could take the incoming from both left and right he receives. We have a winner here and everyone needs to stay tough through the peaks and valleys! There’s no GOP candidate that can cross demographic lines like Trump. There’s no GOP alternative that can ignore or insult the leftist media like Trump. We are going to win for once if everyone stays the course.
BTW, to all the Cruzers - I agree - he’s great - but - his pro-constitutionalist views are too advanced for the current state of the American Dream. In a 12 step program you can’t start at number 7. The USA is only near the point where it might be able to admit it has a problem, let alone explore the cure.
Expect MASSIVE voter fraud!
Expect violence.
Not until he’s really gummed up the works.
I mean, remember how, since 2011, Trump (AS SEEN ON TV) stumped for all those conservative candidates, donating millions in time and money?
Neither do I.
It’s a Perot joke.
WELL SAID!
The long knives are out for Trump. He’s got to watch his back, front, and sleep with one eye open.
USA TODAY GOP Power Rankings: Trump back on top
...Perhaps the reports of Donald Trumps collapse were premature.
The Donald returns to the top spot in our Power Rankings this week.
This is not necessarily because of a sudden surge in Trumps momentum, but more a function of the close contest for the top of our list. The top group are closely bunched in our weekly survey of 30 experts; the distance Trump climbed from third place to first is really a matter of a few changed votes.
Trump continues to have a strong base of support. Social media sentiment is more favorable toward Trump than most other GOP candidates, said digital campaign expert Alan Rosenblatt. Trump not only has a positive sentiment score, but he is mentioned more than seven times as many times as the second best Rubio....
