The travesty imprisonment of Orville Lee Wollard will continue, with the blessing of Gov. Rick Scott. Last week, Scott cast the decisive vote to keep Wollard locked up for firing a warning shot after being attacked in his home by his daughters boyfriend. Police said the boyfriend ripped the surgical stitches from Wollards abdomen.
The 60-year-old first-time offender has already served about seven years of a mandatory 20-year term. A Polk County jury had convicted him of shooting into a dwelling and aggravated assault with a firearm.
A charge of child abuse was included because the boyfriend of Wollards daughter was 17 at the time of the incident, in 2008.
Curiously, the same prosecutor whod originally offered Wollard a deal of five years probation (with no prison time) told the state clemency board on Wednesday that Wollard should stay behind bars after all this time.

That's my point. They would leave themselves open to being accused of being soft on a "child abuser". Political poison.
So, they let this guy who PROTECTED his child rot in prison.
The prosecutor, cops, and Scott should be strung up.
“I dont support any actor, musician, author or entertainer - or anyone else who would like money from my pocket - if their political bent is directly opposed to fairly Conservative values. Or, if they are just a raging, barking moonbat liberal.’
A lot of people who take money from your pocket may be liberals.
Your doctor.your airline pilot,or the plumber. Who cares?
They provide a service and you pay for it.
Entertainers and authors do the same thing.
You are right, in that anyone may be completely against my values as a Conservative, Christian, American.
Why does that stop me from trying to find and support like-minded people or businesses? Why should I pay for the work that puts money into the pocket of a George Clooney?
*I* care, a lot. I probably do more research than others in this endevour and it is completely worth it to me.
Just because someone provides a service does not obligate me to pay for it. There are many options for entertainment and everything else that don’t involve supporting a liberal.
I really can live without their work. If more people did likewise maybe the left would take a hint.
Good day to you.
