“As soon as he got in the race, Trump became the missing Malaysian plane of American politics.”

Maybe you can explain how it makes sense as a metaphor? But I have noticed that Lowery will think up something like that that he thinks is cunning, and then write an entire damn article just to trot it out.

Maybe you can explain how it makes sense as a metaphor? I thought it was a good metaphor to describe how as soon as he entered the race it was wall-to-wall coverage of the guy such that, continuing until today, he hasn't really had to advertise to get his message out. Like the missing Malaysian plane, the coverage just kept going and going and going. The media love giving him a microphone and training their camera on him. It is ironic, that the guy who can most afford to finance media buys, doesn't really have to.

Not trying to pick a fight, he is not my candidate. But I am not opposed to voting for him if he wins it. He is s superb improvement over who is in there now, and also of anyone else the Dems will offer. I do think the writers of the article, after reading it through, are a little too dramatic.

While I like many things about his tax plan, I think it is structurally flawed in a way that might prove fatal long term. We can't risk allowing so high a percentage of people who don't have to pay income taxes. Everyone needs to wear a taxpayer cap, even if it is very modest, so that they have skin in the game.
