McCarthy is the worst possible choice. He reminds me of the evil, corrupted congressman in a TV series who only is there because he craves power.

I'll take Chaffetz in a heartbeat. He's the right choice.

The GOPe is trying to find the right RINO that can get by the tea party or the tea party will swallow and look the other way.

Chaffetz has sold out America just as many times as Boehner and should not be supported as speaker of the house.

If this Chaffetz is elected speaker, nothing will change, and the RINO’s will continue the long walk down the socialist road with Obama leading!

I have an idea,, why not a speaker who is willing to impeach this president? Didn't think so!

I’m at the point where a random name off the voter registration rolls is the best choice.

From The Conservative Tree House:

Oh, if only Judas Chaffetz could re-write history; perhaps then an electorate could ignore the fact we have Senator Orin Hatch because Representative Judas Chaffetz took Tom Donohue’s 2011 Chamber of Commerce bribery money and agreed not to challenge Hatch in Utah’s 2012 primary (state delegate convention, not election).

In addition to significant amounts of cash, Chaffetz was also promised establishment perks, a House GOP leadership position, and key chairmanship in exchange for his collaboration.

Now Judas wishes to rise in defense of a common sense constitutional electorate which he previously betrayed.

I do not want either McCarthy or Chaffetz.

A previous thread stated Chaffetz “fired” Meadows at the behest of McCarthy.

In addition, Chaffetz leans toward pro-amnesty for the 40+ MILLION ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS.

Chaffetz may be backup Plan B for GOP-Establishment

I’d be fine with Chaffetz but know we’re going to get McCarthy because most conservatives are too stupid and childish to accept anything less than God himself. (Even that would be a tough sell)

Chaffetz would make a great speaker and a great president. He’s a congressman that takes his job serious.

Chaffetz's hands are dirty too...

Chaffetz strips Meadows of subcommittee chairmanship

Ironically, his action, taken against Meadows on behalf of Boehner, is what set in motion Boehner's ultimate downfall.

Right now there are no good choices. Whoever is elected will be a slightly different flavor of the currant speaker. I don’t know what it is (money, blackmail, threats to families, etc.) but a lot of these guys started out sort of normal but after going to D.C. something radical happens to all of them.

Perhaps Chaffetz’ dust up with the FBI may have pushed him a little to the right but a speakership with more power might “cure” him of that notion very quickly.

Chaffetz is just another unprincipaled career politician from a family of Democrat Party political hacks.

Jason Chaffetz himself served as co-chair of the Michael Dukakis for president campaign in Utah in 1988

Chaffetz actually did back away from a fight (for McCain’s seat)—and was reportedly rewarded with this type of GOPe favor for it.

He may be a smidgen better than McCarthy, but we shouldn’t be fooled into thinking he’s actually “tea partY” in any way. He’s for amnesty and citizenship for illegals, for example—so another big donor puppet.

This is NOT the guy we want...no f**king way...

Chaffetz converted from Judaism to Mormonism during his last year of college.

While in college, Chaffetz was a Democrat. His father had previously been married to Democratic governor Michael Dukakis' wife, Kitty, and his half-brother is former actor John Dukakis. Despite their different political affiliations, Chaffetz remains close with his brother and the Dukakis family. While a student at BYU, he was a Utah co-chairman for Dukakis' 1988 presidential campaign. After college, Chaffetz worked in public relations for multi-level marketing company, Nu Skin International, for about a decade.

NuSkin is a Mormon-owned company that has been fined millions by the FTC for deceptive practices, btw.

As half the population was left without a voice, he gurgled nonsense, completely unable to articulate or inspire.

Half the population without representation. Recipe for revolution.

Who in their right mind would want the job as Recreation Director on the Titanic!!

No one man or woman is capable of steering a mass of fakes, liars and scoundrels.. and that’s just on the Gop side of The Hill for starters.

I’m sorry folks.. Gubamint works best that does nothing. It has become a Gordian knot.. and Hitlary has all the sharp knives.. and FBI files.

I prefer Gohmert but he has chosen to not run.. so far.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Chaffetz at the behest of Boehner that went after Mark Meadows?

If so why the hell would you want him? I personally think (stealing thunder from David Webb) I would rather have Tom Delay, from Texas to be speaker, since the Democrats went after him with such vengeance I think he would be the perfect one.

Just a thought.
