The Yahoo article is statistically erroneous. But the writers are using the same statistical tricks used often in statistical crime reports. It ignores the fact that there are more non-muslims in the country that muslims.
In NJ’s “uniform crime reports” they play the same game. Where crime rates are high and they wish to obscure the source, they will use the “typical profile” trick. “The profile of the typical rapists is a white male”; but this ignores the fact that there are more white males than non-white males in the state. Non-white males are more likely to be rapists than white males, but it is not PC to report that.
