KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Confusion reigned in the wake of the deadly bombing Saturday of a hospital compound in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz that killed at least 19 people and wounded dozens more. It remains unclear exactly who bombed the hospital run by Doctors Without Borders and the international medical charity has demanded an investigation into the incident.
Doctors Without Borders said that "all indications" pointed to the international military coalition as responsible for the bombing and called for an independent investigation. U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said an inquiry was underway into whether the carnage at the clinic was caused by an airstrike from an American fighter jet, while Afghan officials said helicopter gunships had returned fire from Taliban fighters hiding in the compound.
Afghan forces backed by U.S. airstrikes have been battling the Taliban street-by-street in Kunduz since Thursday to dislodge insurgents who seized the strategic city three days earlier in their biggest foray into a major urban area since the U.S.-led invasion of 2001. The insurgents have had the city encircled for months, and overran it in a surprise assault that embarrassed the U.S.-backed Afghan government and called into question the competence of the U.S.-funded Afghan armed forces.

Doctors still alive should think about getting out while they can.
Highly likely there was small scale sniping an hit and run, however, the release of these type weapons considering collateral is almost never allowed.
This was deliberate, Obama has already ordered five times the drone strikes than did W, and killed far more "civilians", and the news media is for all purposes silent.
Also, I'm sick of our restrictive Rules of Engagement (ROE) and get physically sick at the loss of American lives and limbs for Iraq and Aftganiscrap. They are both turning out to be another Viet-Nam that our Fedgov has no intention of winning any longer due to PC/World Opinion.
Personally, I'm somewhat okay with Russia kicking the crap out of everyone. While I don't support Putin propping up the tyrant Assad, I'm kinda glad to see someone making mince meat out of all the muslime factions in Syria.
I also think it's time that Western civilization went Dresden, Hamburg, and Tokyo on Islamists - PC and collateral damage be damned. This is about the survival of the West, which has been the most beneficial to mankind of any civilization in history. But no, the PC Merkels and such cry for the poor Syrians who are bringing in their 3rd world Islamic cult with them. I wouldn't cry one tear if all muslims disappeared tomorrow. It would be a better world.

I saw on the news Saturday that the Taliban wounded were being treated in the building. The fighting Taliban were sheltering there and firing on unarmored UN-US troops, so air strikes were called in. ....No sympathy from me.
The BBC used to be respected worldwide. The BBC used to stand for genuine reporting, propaganda-free and used to have integrity.
Now it’s no different than some fourth-rate tabloid crap mixed in with the sort of propaganda that Joseph Goebbels would be jealous of.
