Anyone with more than a high-schooler's familiarity with the history of Europe, or even "just Poland," has to know the writer is not being far-fetched. It's only human to make categorical judgements with regard to generations, prevailing worldviews, about people's and ruling classes, while ignoring long-term trends, revivals, years like 1848, or other "mules" that upset the apple cart. Such trends tend to transcend single lifetimes, but they happen.

I don't believe I would have phrased it quite the same way, but I get his point and agree that it is a distinct possibility.

One reason goes beyond mere history. Modern conservatism, particularly juxta supposed with modern liberal socialism, is aligned with objective reality, with "truth." We need not simply hope that those who have set untruth on the pedestal might fail. They will fail, ultimately. My real irritation is not the descent into a dark age as much as how unnecessary it is.

The best antidote to globalism and the banality of what passes for "multiculturalism" is nationalism, and the latter does not sleep.

[...] particularly juxta supposed with modern liberal socialism [...]

Is that a real word? How does its meaning differ from that of the word "juxtaposed"?
