Russia Claims ISIS Now On The Ropes As Fighters Desert After 60 Airstrikes In 72 Hours
Zero Hedge ^ | 3 Oct 2015

Posted on 10/03/2015 10:42:41 AM PDT by amorphous

One question that’s been asked repeatedly over the past thirteen months is why Washington has been unable to achieve the Pentagon’s stated goal of “degrading and defeating” ISIS despite the fact that the “battle” pits the most advanced air force on the planet against what amounts to a ragtag band of militants running around the desert in basketball shoes.

Those of a skeptical persuasion have been inclined to suggest that perhaps the US isn’t fully committed to the fight. Explanations for that suggestion range from the mainstream (the White House is loathe to get the US into another Mid-East war) to the “conspiratorial” (the CIA created ISIS and thus doesn’t want to destroy the group due to its value as a strategic asset).

The implication in all of this is that a modern army that was truly determined to destroy the group could likely do so in a matter of months if not weeks and so once Russia began flying sorties from Latakia, the world was anxious to see just how long the various rebel groups operating in Syria could hold up under bombardment by the Russian air force.

The answer, apparently, is “less than a week.”

It will be very embarrassing for the US (not, unfortunately, only an embarrassment to the idiot with the woman’s hand up his butt) if Russia wipes them out in a week or two. Someone else may be holding “the worlds’ only superpower” crown in the eyes of the world by the end of the month, true or not. Pooty-poot really thought this out well, and it’s only going to cost him the price of a large military exercise.

Does it seem rational to you that Bush held back on air attacks despite the price to his personal prestige, to the point that he is held to be one of the worst (if not the worst) presidents in US history? When personal prestige is why people go into politics?

What’s going on is that Obama and ISIS are working together.

We have a muslim traitor as president.

We know beyond all reasonable doubt now that the left wants to disarm us. I will try to make the case that now, they have lost all hope of doing so.

The American left has derived its dominant political power for decades because the people keep electing them. Along with that, it has derived its dominant first world power because of the strength of the American military. The left has been able to push any manner of leftist garbage on the populations around of the world, and it has been able to use the military to severely punish nations with whom it is displeased: an example being Serbia.

Where I am going with this is that we have witnessed a foreign policy disaster of the first order. The United States has now been relegated to what the leftists dreamed of: an onlooker, not a player. And suddenly, the left doesn't like it a bit because too late it realizes that its power just got diminished by magnitudes. Russia calls the tune now. It controls the Middle East oil and Europe must dance to Putin's tune.

It was only a matter of time before the left would be exposed as the colossal jug ups that they are. It has now happened. Those same jug ups who ceded control of the Middle East are the ones who want to disarm Americans in the face of radical Islamists threats to carry out massive murderous attacks on disarmed citizens. Good luck with that! Leftist Russia just broke the American left in half.

“Andrei Novikov (A Russian fellow) said in an interview for the Russian Interfax news agency: “According to intelligence agencies, there are about 2,000 Russian citizens are fighting in the ranks of ISIS, and according to expert estimates, the number is about five thousand fighters.”

Even 5,000.

Now, if one can say Turkey or France are supplying more, I’d look at the data.

The fighters aren’t deserting. It is a tactical retreat. If they aren’t pursued and slaughtered they live to fight another day.

He probably would want a pipeline and tourist economy. The problem seems to be the fact Syria of occupiing prime real estate in the pathwar of oil getting to Europe from producers in the M.E.

Remember a few years back when Kerry was courting Assad? There were pictures of both of them and their wifes having dinner. Russia likely put the screws on any thoughts Assad may have of cozing up to the US pretty quickly. Again, Russia likes being in a position of control of oil flow to europe.

Putin said early on that unfortunately his country wasn’t exempt from having Russian fighters with ISIS.....and said also this was one of the reasons he wasn’t going to sit around any more....before they started coming back over the borders into his country.

I would not deny ISIS has a lot of Saudis, a country that does not have that big of a population but a lot of money but I have not seen it confirmed. I am sure Wahhabi religion influences ISIS.

They’ve found Russian language Korans over there in ISIS battalions, it’s not uncommon to hear top commanders in ISIS are Chechens.

I can find this data.

I’ve looked before for a breakdown on who is in ISIS, I have not been able to find it but when one sees those bearded loonies, I don’t see more Saudis, I’ve seen Far East Asian types, everyone is in ISIS usually.

http://www.rferl.org/archive/under-the-black-flag/latest/17257/17257.html Radio Free Europe “Under the Black Flag” shows the many that come out of the former USSR.

“IS’s North Caucasus Affiliate Calls For Recruits To Join It In Daghestan” http://www.rferl.org/archive/under-the-black-flag/latest/17257/17257.html

Russia even listed one of their reasons for going to fight ISIS is to fight them before it comes there and because they have had many people go there and they would rather battle them there. This was in the news in the past 2 weeks.
