Russian forces bombed Syrian targets for a fourth day despite international concerns over Moscow's intentions in the war-torn nation.
The Russian defense ministry said its soldiers bombed nine ISIS positions Saturday near the terror group's de facto capital in Raqqa.
In the past 24 hours, the air force conducted 20 airstrikes near Raqqa, the defense ministry said.
Tactical bombers destroyed various militant facilities, including ammunition and oil depots, and all-terrain vehicles, the defense ministry said in a statement.

ME TOO!!! At least someone is willing to fight the terrorists. All that I see us doing is handing over billions of dollars of military hardware to a bunch of college kids, who then promptly give it to ISIS. Not much progress there...assuming that we really want ISIS to lose.
Sen. John McCain -- chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee -- told CNN's Chris Cuomo that he could "absolutely confirm" that the initial strikes were "against our Free Syrian Army or groups that have been armed and trained by the CIA, because we have communications with people there."
McCain called the Russian strikes "an incredible flouting of any kind of cooperation or effort to conceal what their first -- Putin's priority is. And that is of course to prop up Bashar al-Assad."
That's a good start. When I see McCain's head explode (not literally of course), then I will conclude Putin has done his job. After that the law of unintended consequences kicks in. But it was a mess to begin with so I don't really care.
Does this mean boots on the ground soldiers are engaged? Last count, there are 2,000 Russian soldiers in Syria.

Not yet, first you bomb and destroy all their cover and concealment on the desert floor. You force the cockroaches out into the open. Then you bring in the ground troops and conduct a sweep of the area to clear it of individual bands of shell shocked wandering vermin.
