"After being checkmated", Obama says Syria 'is not some superpower chessboard contest'

President Obama defended his response to the growing crisis in Syria on Friday by pointing to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, cautioning against a commitment that risks drawing the U.S. into a new quagmire in the Middle East.

Obama appeared determined to take on critics whom he portrayed as impatient and ignorant of the complexity of the warring factions in Syria. He laughed off suggestions that Russian airstrikes in recent days against fighters opposed to President Bashar Assad, an ally of Moscow’s, have President Vladimir Putin looking stronger than Obama in Syria.

“We’re not going to make Syria into a proxy war between the United States and Russia,” Obama insisted during an afternoon news conference at the White House. “This is not some superpower chessboard contest. And anybody who frames it in that way isn’t paying very close attention to what’s been happening on the chessboard"

I have noticed there have been no polls out in a while about BO’s popularity. Everytime he speaks in public he does sound like a vindictive little middle schooler. Always blaming others and saying that he is so important.

Let Russia clean this mess up, and then THANK THEM when it’s over. I’m sick of trying to play good-cop there.

Did you see how Russia dealt with the Somoli Pirates?

Also how Russia dealt with kidnappers in Lebanon?

Russia doesn't play stupid games.

The middle east has just been ceded to Russia. That's what I observe happening on the Chess board.

This.

This is what happens when you let idiots vote. They elect idiots. We need to repeal the 26th amendment, the 24th amendment, and possibly the 19th amendment.

This is what happens when you take an immature little boy and give him a real man’s job. The whole world is laughing at us for electing this imbecile.

The only job Obama has held that wasn't some form of no accomplishment government tit sucking was dishing ice cream at Baskin Robbins.

We have an ice cream dipper as our President. I'm not even sure the lazy, ignorant stupid, petulant fool could get that right.

“Do you REALLY THINK we could cut military spending in half, over the past 10 years, and not pay a price for it?”

It’s amazing how little you get for half a trillion per year from our military. What makes you think a full trillion a year would get us any more?

Russia can actually blow stuff up and kill people they think are enemies for far far less than what we spend.

The problem our military has is not budgetary.

Usually, the truth is exactly opposite of what Obama says. As in this case......

The whole world is laughing at us for electing this imbecile.

He had more support outside the US than inside.

We have an idiot in the whitehouse.

Yes, he's an idiot, and it was the New York and Los Angeles media that elected him. They are liars and they deliberately misinformed the public about this stupid little boy.

If the nation is ever to be straightened out, Liberal control of the media will have to be utterly destroyed, and safeguards will have to be added to the system to weed out any future liberals.

“This is not some superpower chessboard contest. And anybody who frames it in that way isn’t paying very close attention to what’s been happening on the chessboard”

In the same quote he denies, then acknowledges that it really is a geopolitical chessboard.

“Chessboard contest”? I think they call it “Chess”...

Obama can’t venture very far from a teleprompter before the stupid becomes undeniable.

Wondering if his children will be ashamed of their father when they grow up and see the real damage he has done...his legacy will be a joke.

Let’s send Putin into the Baltics and clean those up too. Way too much pro-western capitalism there. No offense but don;t be naive. Putin isn’t doing this to help Syria, or because he is afraid of ISIS, he is doing it to publicly humiliate the US, and diminish our power and standing worldwide, and it is working. Don’t be so eager for this to happen, because the long term consequence is going to be china invading Taiwan, Russia taking back the Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. It will be countries like Egypt inviting the Russian Fleet in. There are going to be decades of war because of the instability the Obama caused by being so feckless and weak.

I just told my wife 2 hours ago this world is going to change. We have left the Mideast as Russia comes in. Iran has been growing in strength ever since they rubbed Jimmy Carter’s nose in it. Now Russia is beside them. The paradigm is changing.

and Obama is redoubling his efforts to disarm us now because, of all reasons, somebody started exterminating Christians. Keep your powder dry.
