I was in Cuba in 2000. Spent a week at Hotel National.
I will tell you that American tourists will not put up with the conditions as I saw them in the hotels. The Castro boys are going to have to spend some money to bring them “up to par”.
Oh,, and God help you if you get really sick. We toured a hospital and it was gag-inducing. (Havana)

Very sad. But sadder, that Cubans like Elian, still buy into the fantasy/lies. Hard to imagine the level of self delusion required....

Cuba had its problems before Castro. How else could a homicidal nutcase with very few men sail in on a pleasure boat named Granma and conquer the country?
Looks like Cuba has a lot of work to do to get back to the way things were. Someday soon—Cuba will be Free!
