Almost exactly three years ago a haughty President Obama mocked his Republican presidential rival, Mitt Romney, in their third campaign debate:
"Governor Romney, I'm glad that you recognize that Al Qaida is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what's the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia, not Al Qaida. You said Russia. In the 1980s, they're now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War's been over for 20 years."
In the 36 intervening months we've witnessed countless examples of the perspicacity of Romney and the naive guilelessness of Obama. Obama misread Vladimir Putin's intentions. Obama called ISIS a JV team. He overlooked Iran's deceits to do a desperate deal.
Evidence against trusting Putin is overwhelming. His demeaning PR rescue of a bumbling Obama from the American's own silly "red line" threat over Syrian chemical weapons. Russia's annexation of Crimea. Its underwriting of armed rebellion in eastern Ukraine. Its successful defiance of economic sanctions. Its arms sales to Iran. And in recent weeks Russia's armed occupation of parts of Syria, construction of a major airbase and upgrading of a port all allegedly to help fight ISIS.
Wednesday came the worst Obama humiliation yet. A Russian general delivered to a surprised U.S. military attache in Baghdad an abrupt diplomatic notice that within the hour Russian war planes would begin bombing in Syria and a demand that U.S. forces stay out of the way. They did. And we did.
And the world in general saw once again who's taking charge in that volatile region to occupy Obama's willful power vacuum. And John Kerry is left pleading with Russia's foreign minister for a meeting.
All this just 48 hours after Obama and Putin met at the United Nations.

And Russian planes didn’t really bomb ISIS. They didn’t fly anywhere near ISIS territory. They bombed areas controlled by free Syrian rebels, the forces Obama is claiming he’s helping.
In other words, under the guise of anti-terrorism, Putin’s moving to bolster Syrian President Bashar Assad, the man Obama has been saying must go for the past three years.
Add this to other Obama diplomatic disasters: The unnecessarily abrupt troop pullout from Iraq that created another vacuum. The rise of ISIS, which never was a JV squad, spreading its terror tentacles to North Africa and beyond.
The failed training program for Syrian rebels.
The frayed relations with Egypt. The needless tensions with Israel. The disturbing diminution of the U.S. military.
The collapse of Yemen’s government to Iran-backed rebels, a struggle Obama touted as an anti-terrorism success story just months before. A half-billion dollars in U.S. military gear went missing in that collapse.
The emerging weaknesses of Afghan security forces that just lost the country’s sixth-largest city to several hundred Taliban fighters.
Oh, and the complex set of cave-ins to the mullahs in a deal that Obama still claims will prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons.
Obama has 476 days left until his White House lease expires. Clearly, it will take many times that long to repair and restore American power, prestige, standing and confidence.
Putin has used Obama’s butt as his “reset” button.
if Obama were working for the other side, what we he be doing differently?
We should point out to Putin that he’s being racist by disagreeing with Obama. That ought to bring him around! /sarc
I listened to part of O’s presser at 4 pm. The man is a fool.
One can imagine Putin in the back rooms of power saying “What luck! The American people elected an idiot, we have an opportunity here to quickly expand our power.”
40 minutes later it’s still going on.
You can tell he’s extremely p*ssed that he hasn’t figured out a way to take our guns.
I listened to part of Os presser at 4 pm. The man is a fool.
Somebody called me and said to turn on the TV and watch that. He said POS Obama is acting like he is really losing it. I forced myself to watch for a while and I agree...that POS is really unstable.
He really seems to think he has been a good President.
The last time Putin was informed that Obama disapproved of something he did
Putin immediately wet his pants and then had to be put to bed heavily sedated.
The more Obama speaks the easier it is to realize that he is a political moron. The problem is that most of his supporters are political morons too. The rest are just outright Marxists doing whatever is necessary to destroy this nation for their own benefit.
Reset THIS, President Numbskull!
And Yes, you may have another.
Well, he is a delusional fool.
I missed that.
Please say a little more about why he appeared unstable.
You can tell hes extremely p*ssed that he hasnt figured out a way to take our guns.
You’re exactly right. He’s beyond pi$$ed that Americans are free to protect themselves and he knows the Second Ammendment was designed to protect them from tyrants like him.
He really looks like he’s losing it.
He’s on right now. Force yourself to look.
Obama said “I hope Russia is successful” and “this is not a contest between the United States and Russia”.. WTF? This guy is the KING OF MIXED MESSAGES and has NO foreign policy position.
“The missiles are flying, hallelujah, hallelujah”
Obama sounding hapless in his presser today.
